Seasonal menus: prepare a temporary offer without omissions
A scheduled seasonal menu has a start and end date, so it activates and expires automatically. Prepare its content, availability, allergens and dates separately, then check what guests will see before, during and after the period.
When is scheduling useful?
It suits offers with a known period: summer terrace, Christmas market, festival, ski season or a temporary event. SimplyRestau V2 includes scheduled seasonal menus on Essential and Pro, not Free.
What should be prepared?
- Exact menu name and dates.
- Available sections and products.
- Reviewed prices, allergens and translations.
- The menu shown before activation and after expiry.
How should activation be secured?
- Use the venue time zone.
- Avoid incompatible overlapping menus.
- Define the replacement menu.
- Carry out a human check at both start and expiry.
- Archive only after removing obsolete information.
Which mistakes should be avoided?
- Reusing old allergen data without checking the recipe.
- Scheduling an end without a replacement.
- Updating prices in only one language.
- Presenting scheduling as automatic stock management.
